The New Steak & Egg Burrito Rolls Onto the Breakfast Menu at Carl's Jr.

Feb 8, 2006

Hearty Breakfast Offering Features Grilled Steak, Fresh-Made Salsa

CARPINTERIA, Calif. - February 8, 2006 - Beginning today, Carl's Jr.® rewards early risers with a mouth-watering addition to its all-star line up of breakfast burgers, burritos and bowls: the Steak & Egg Burrito™. This hearty breakfast delight is filled with scrambled eggs, grilled steak, Pepperjack cheese, a blend of shredded Jack and cheddar cheeses, freshly made salsa and wrapped in a warm flour tortilla - enough spice and sizzle to carry the heartiest appetite through to the lunch hour.

"We always try to offer our guests both high quality and great taste - from the Portobello mushrooms on our 100 percent Angus beef Six Dollar Burgers™ to the real ice cream in our Hand-Scooped Ice Cream Shakes & Malts™," said Brad Haley, executive vice president of marketing for Carl's Jr. "So, besides using real grilled steak in our new Steak & Egg Burrito, we are the only major burger chain making fresh salsa for our breakfast burritos. We're going to the trouble of chopping fresh tomatoes, jalapeños, onions and cilantro every morning because it was the only way to deliver that authentic burrito taste."

Participating Carl's Jr. restaurants will offer the Steak & Egg Burrito at a suggested retail price of $2.99. Guests can order a combo, including hash rounds and Channel Islands Roasting Company™ coffee, for a suggested retail price of $4.39.
